EARTH”the bees made honey in the lions skull” daymare 2 X CD edtion
Double disc Japanese edition of the fantastic new Earth CD. The ever evolving Earth pushes their sound to new areas with the current offer expanding on the Hex material. And exercise in slow controlled restraint with out any waste of motion or useless sound. A perfectly crafty disc. Japanese edition comes with the sought after “live in Europe 2006” tour CD.

HARVEY MILK “life the best game in town” 2 X CD daymare
Stunning new release by the milk riffs so clean and heavy must have been sent by the gods. To me the Milk has always been that less user friendly Melvin’s type band that would have gotten huge if they tour. Presented here in the Japanese version as a double CD with a gatefold package. Bonus disc is demo tracks for the release in bastard form.

MASAYUKI TAKAYANAGI I went a little apeshit in the past month or two padding my own persoanl collection of Takayanagi titles and grabbed a few for of each title for distro. For those who don’t know Takayanagi was an extremely important Japanese guitarist in the free jazz experimental world whose recorded works spans from the 60’s to the 90’s. He was one of the first guitarists to perform table top works. Below is a sampling of titles that range from fairly straight jazz formations- to hyperkinetic free jazz to feedback drenched table works. Most quantities are small. All discs are Japanese imports.  LINK TO MORE INFO ON TAKAYANAGI

TO BLACKEN THE PAGES “a semblance of something appearing to be destruction” CD colony
New self released CD from Uk ambient metal solo guy to Blacken the Pages. Things like Nadja are a stones throw from the material here. Three new long form compositions from 2008 stretched over this disc with a similar design look as the other releases I did distro on in the past.

I AM SEAMONSTER CDR
New Release on the French label salvation as part of the CDR run bass frequencies, this time from Texas unit IAS. Excellent dense shimmering drones that remind me of some of the brooding sections from early growing material minus the blow out guitar. Comes house is a nifty metal tin case.
$11 Postpaid in the US
FORDDELL RESEARCH UNIT “repetition” CDR
Newest installments to the French CDR Series bass frequencies. I don’t know much about the fellow working these drones but the audio is slow motion drones that has a more mechanical motion to it broken down into digestible chunks over the course of several tracks. Housed in the lovely tin case. Edition size of 100 copies.

WERJU “monuments” CDR
From the same series as above, more organic sounding and feeling minimally laid drones from another mystery project. Pictured far right comes house in the same metal tin.

ARC “the circle is not round” CD
Italian released CD from this Aidan Baker trio band. I think this is more or less out of print at this point I nabbed the last few copies off of Aidan while he was in town recently. Arc represents more ambient group workings then Nadja inline with some of Aidan’s solo works with accompaniment. Comes housed in nicely made gatefold slipcase.

AIDAN BAKER “book of nods” CD beta lactam
Quality CD edition of 500 from Aidan instrumentation includes guitar, piano, organ, drums, and flute. Recorded live with loops and what nod. I’m assuming that means no overdubs.  Nice disc all and all explores new sounds for Aidan and isn’t overly minimal. Comes housed in a nice gatefold slipcase.
$13.50 Postpaid in the US
NADJA/ BLACK BONE ANGEL “Christ sent light” CD
The much anticipated collab. Between Aidan’s ambient metal duo, and New Zealander Campbell Kneale’s Black Bone Angel. This particular 20 something min CD is the teaser track for the forthcoming full length release. Aidan told me this particular track seemed to not fit well with the material on the full length so they released it as a CD single. Well haven’t heard the full length but this release is totally fantastic. Blissful loud volume drone!!
